Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless gas, but it is extremely poisonous. It is released during the insufficient combustion of substances containing carbon, such as oil, gas and solid fuels. The toxicity of this gas makes it necessary to continuously monitor the concentrations of CO released into the environment as a result of the combustion processes in industry. CO2 concentrations are an indication of the air quality in work and residential premises. Bad air in the premises, as a result of high CO2 concentrations, can cause fatigue, lack of concentration and even lead to various diseases. therefore, the concentration of CO2 should not exceed 1,000 ppm. values between 700 and 1,500 prm are considered optimal. Devices for measuring the concentrations of CO and CO2 in the environment, as well as gas detectors – devices for detecting gas leaks contribute to the prevention of the negative consequences for people and equipment.
